5th Japanese-Russian business forum organized by coordinating council on Trans-siberian transportation and association of trans-siberian intermodal operators of Japan

IEC International Projects Director Ekaterina Kozyreva made a presentation "Econometric modeling of Eurasian freight flows: barriers and opportunities of rail transportation" within the 5th Japanese-Russian business forum organized by Coordinating Council on Trans-Siberian Transportation (CCTT) and Association of Trans-Siberian Intermodal Operators of Japan (TSIOAJ) "Transsib in the system of Euro-Asian transportation: new opportunities and prospects" which was held on May 24 in Tokyo and was linked with Russian Railways' presentation "Trans-Siberian Railway for Japan".

Deputy Minister of Transport of the Russian Federation Vladimir Tokarev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotential of Russia to Japan Mikhail Galuzin, Trade representative of Russia Sergey Egorov, Vice Minister for International Affairs at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism Yasihiro Shinohara, Member of the Collegium (Minister) of Energy and Infrastructure of EEC Emil Kaikiev, representatives of Japanese and Russian companies.

IEC presented econometric evaluation of existing and projected freight flows Japan – Europe – Japan, estimation of impact of different factors, including possible subsidies for shippers, and results of the survey conducted by IEC among European and Asian companies in January and February 2019 in partnership with CCTT and UIC.
